Twins Chelsea and Hanna are a 2012 graduates of Lorain County Early College High School. We checked in with them to see what they’re up to now!
It seems like just yesterday Hanna and I graduated from Lorain County Early College High School in the 2012. My life is so different now, but in a great way thanks to Early College High School. After graduating, I attended Kent State University and in May 2015 I earned my Bachelor’s in Business Administration majoring in Managerial Marketing with a minor in Communication Studies. I felt comfortable transitioning from Early College High School because the staff and professors really prepared us for what to expect at a four year university.
In the summer of 2014, I interned with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo as the Special Events and Experiences intern. In that role, I coordinated events for corporations, weddings, walks and annual events within the Metroparks. All the stress, effort and determination paid off when I was offered a full-time position with a start-up in Cleveland before commencement. I am now the Marketing Coordinator for a new app called Wheedle.
I was given the opportunity of a lifetime and it only motivated me more to achieve my dreams. I am 21-years old. I have two degrees, an amazing job and could not be where I am today without Lorain County Early College High School. Thank you!
What’s next? Maybe my MBA or fulfilling a passion of mine and starting my own business. Education is an amazing tool and can be maximized to its full potential if you are willing to put in the work and dedication.

After graduating from Lorain County Early College High School, I went on to pursue my Bachelor’s degree at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) with a major in Adolescent / Young Adult Earth and Space Science Education. I am currently in my fourth and final year at BGSU.
On campus I’m involved in the Latino Student Union acting as their current Political Action Chair and past Treasurer, the Bleacher Creatures (BGSU’s Hockey Spirit Squad) as their Treasurer and as a general member of a few other organizations.
Throughout my four years at BGSU I’ve been fortunate enough to attend conferences, meet amazing leaders, volunteer around the community, make friendships that will last a lifetime and grow as a person. I am currently doing my student teaching at Lake High School in Millbury, Ohio. After graduation, in May of 2016, I hope to find a teaching job and then go on to get my Master’s and then eventually my PhD.
